Built in a green mountainous landscape at an altitude of 670 meters, Dasochori is one of the northernmost villages of Messinia, on the border with Arcadia. It is a small village with 32 inhabitants, in an idyllic landscape, immersed in greenery. Its central church is Agia Paraskevi, on whose feast day on 26 July various cultural events are organised. In the village, also on the evening of Holy Saturday or Easter Sunday, there is a revival of the Aerostatos throwing, in which all the villagers participate.
In Dasochori, which was formerly called Lykouresi, and more specifically in the chapel of Agia Theodora, the 17 large trees that have grown on the roof of the small church at the beginning of the 11th century are a sight to behold. Water also gushes from the foundations of this church, creating a unique spectacle of nature.
