The village of Konstantinoi is a traditional stone-built village built on a mountainside. They are known for the two ancient tablets found in the 1880s at the location “Kamares” southeast of the village, near the settlement of Polichni, in which the entire ritual of the Mysteries of Andania was recorded. These tablets, which date back to the end of the 1st century BC, are today embedded to the right and left of the entrance to the church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Constantine.
Their contents consist of 27 paragraphs – articles, each of which gives the orders and services to each person responsible for his duties during the ceremonies that lasted a total of nine days.
